S.S. Havana of 1907
Havana grounded on a reef in 1935 and had to be evacuated. After this debacle, she was repaired and renamed Yucatan, in an effort to sidestep the negative publicity of the grounding (which came on the heels of the Morro Castle and Mohawk disasters). Note that the ship's name has been touched up in this photo with white ink.
